Integrate Workshop Software with MYOB

Integrating Workshop Software with MYOB allows your invoices, payments, and customer data to sync automatically between the two systems. This eliminates double-entry and keeps your workshop management and accounting in sync.

Prerequisites

  • An active MYOB AccountRight or MYOB Business account
  • Workshop Software on Silver tier or above
  • Admin access to both Workshop Software and MYOB

How to Connect MYOB to Workshop Software

  1. Log in to Workshop Software and navigate to Settings from the left sidebar.
  2. Select Integrations from the settings menu.
  3. Find MYOB in the integrations list and click Connect.
  4. You will be redirected to MYOB to authorise the connection. Log in with your MYOB credentials and grant Workshop Software access.
  5. Once authorised, select the MYOB company file you want to connect to.
  6. Map your accounts — Workshop Software will ask you to select the MYOB accounts for income, payments, and other transaction types.
  7. Click Save to activate the integration.

What Gets Synced

Once the integration is active, the following data syncs from Workshop Software to MYOB:

  • Invoices — finalised invoices are sent to MYOB automatically
  • Payments — payments recorded in Workshop Software sync to the corresponding MYOB invoice
  • Customers — new customer records created in Workshop Software are added to MYOB
  • Products — product/inventory items can be synced depending on your MYOB inventory settings (see MYOB Inventory Settings)

How the Sync Works

Workshop Software syncs data to MYOB in the background. When you finalise an invoice in the Job Centre, it is queued for sync and typically appears in MYOB within a few minutes. You can check the sync status from Settings > Integrations > MYOB, where an event log shows the status of each synced item.

For a detailed explanation of how the integration operates, see How does the MYOB integration work?

Troubleshooting

If invoices are not syncing, check the event log in Settings > Integrations > MYOB for error messages. Common issues include:

  • Invalid accounts — ensure all required MYOB accounts are mapped correctly in the integration settings
  • MYOB authorisation expired — you may need to re-authorise the connection periodically
  • Company file offline — if using MYOB AccountRight desktop, the company file must be open and accessible
