If you operate in Canada — particularly in Quebec — bilingual communication is essential.
Workshop Software includes the ability to print customer-facing documents in both French and English, helping you meet local language requirements while maintaining a professional presentation.
This article explains how bilingual printing works and when to use it.
Why Bilingual Printing Matters
In Quebec and other bilingual regions, customers expect clear documentation in French. In many cases, regulations also require French content to be present on invoices and official documents.
Using bilingual documents helps you:
- Present professional, compliant invoices
- Reduce customer confusion or disputes
- Ensure clarity on parts, labour and totals
- Avoid manually translating documents
- Save time on administration
Instead of maintaining two separate templates, Workshop Software allows you to generate documents that display both languages together.
What Documents Can Be Printed in French and English?
Bilingual formatting can be applied to:
- Invoices
- Quotes
- Customer job documentation
These documents will display information clearly in both languages within the same printout or PDF.
How Bilingual Printing Works
When bilingual printing is enabled:
- Standard document labels and headings appear in both French and English
- Line items remain clear and structured
- Totals and tax information display correctly
- The formatting remains professional and easy to read
You do not need to create two versions of the same invoice or quote.
The system handles the formatting automatically.
Benefits of Using Bilingual Documents
Saves Time
No manual translation or duplicate document creation.
Reduces Errors
Avoid copy-and-paste mistakes between separate templates.
Improves Customer Confidence
Customers can clearly understand charges in their preferred language.
Maintains Professional Presentation
Consistent layout and formatting across all documents.
