Setting Up Mechanic Codes Before using the clock on/off feature, you must ensure each mechanic has a Mechanic Code assigned.

  1. Go to Employees > Mechanics.

     

  2. Select a mechanic (e.g., Ernie Earthwood).

       
In the Mechanic Code field, enter a unique code, which can be an employee number, name abbreviation, or custom code (e.g., “EEW” for Ernie Earthwood). Generating Mechanic Barcodes Mechanic codes can be turned into barcodes to allow mechanics to clock on/off easily using a barcode scanner. To generate barcode lists:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Business Reports.

     

  2. Select Mechanic Reports > Mechanic Barcode List.

     

  3. Print the list to obtain barcodes for each mechanic.

  1. Go to Employees > Mechanic Clock On.

  2. Enter (or scan) the Job Card Number.

  3. Enter (or scan) the Mechanic Code.
